Morphe
Morphe is a mobile app that incorporates behavioral change strategies such as setting up personal goals, self-monitoring, and providing feedback to help combat obesity within the young population. Made with Flutter.
Overweight and obesity have been linked to several serious health problems and medical conditions. mHealth applications integrating behavior change strategies such as setting goals, self-monitoring, and providing feedback, can help users to achieve desired behavior, which has a great impact on users’ health, especially for people with chronic diseases such as obesity.
This project was part of my Capstone Project at the University of Wollongong. This project has given me deeper knowledge in regards to obesity, team and project management, as well as leveraging multiple technologies.
In this group project, I served as the group leader and one of the mobile frontend engineers. As the group leader, it is my job to represent the group during client meetings, lead and facilitate group discussions, and ensure progress to meet client expectations and deadlines. On the other hand, my role as a mobile frontend engineer involves creating some of the screens (Goals, Feed, Profile & Settings & Report screens specifically). As the person with the most experience in mobile development and Flutter, I also took charge in establishing the project structure, widget tree hierarchy for easy information flow and state management, interaction with Firebase Auth, writing automated tests and CI/CD pipeline script, and assisting my fellow team members with their screens.
Despite the challenges we faced during the 1 year development of this project, I am proud that we are able to weather all them together and manage to achieve high distinction (highest) by the end of the project.
